A television drama in eight episodes, adapted from the novel The Apophatic Man by Marius Tianu.
A cocaine-addicted Bucharest journalist investigating a century of staged suicides discovers that the woman he loves may have been designed by the men he is exposing, and that he may be their heir.
Bucharest, the last week of summer 2018. Andrei Jebeleanu is a gifted reporter with a habit and an unreliable hold on what he sees. A dossier reaches his newsroom that he was never meant to read: deaths recorded as suicides, decades apart, that look less like tragedy than method. Following it takes him back through a secret history of the twentieth century, from the years after the Russian Revolution to the 1950s, and closer than he wants to Dia, the woman he loves.
A voice with no owner tells the story. Every image carries its source: archive, tape, blog, vision. And every episode ends on the same turn, one piece of evidence that undoes what we had just believed.
Eight episodes. Season one fully scripted, in English.
